VISD to Host "Taco Tuesday Field Trip Fun" Series to Connect Families and Schools

Victoria ISD is kicking off a new family engagement initiative, “Taco Tuesday Field Trip Fun,” bringing parents from campuses across the district to VISD Connections for hands-on learning, community building, and school support resources.

The series begins Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and runs through April 28, 2025, with a different set of campuses participating each month. Each session will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., with VISD-provided transportation from participating schools.

Parents attending the Taco Tuesday Field Trip Fun can expect interactive activities, expert guidance on supporting student growth, and opportunities to connect with other families and district staff. Sessions are designed to give families access to school and community resources, explore volunteer opportunities, and learn about educational tools that help students succeed.

The monthly schedule is as follows:

  • October 28, 2025 – Hopkins and Dudley Elementary Schools

  • November 20, 2025 – O’Connor and Torres Elementary Schools

  • December 16, 2025 – Crain and Shields Elementary Schools

  • January 27, 2026 – Chandler and Rowland Elementary Schools

  • February 24, 2026 – Deleon Elementary and Smith STEM Academy

  • March 31, 2026 – Schorlemmer and Vickers Elementary Schools

  • April 28, 2026 – Aloe and Mission Valley Elementary Schools and the Early Childhood Center at F.W. Gross

The program is hosted by VISD Connections and Academic Services and emphasizes the power of family partnership in education. Each event features learning activities, parent resources, and time to build relationships with tacos served to make the experience fun and welcoming.
