Partnered with First Financial Group, Victoria ISD offers a comprehensive benefits package. All employees working at least 20 hours each week are eligible for the full benefit package.
Each year the benefits package is reviewed and evaluated to ensure the available products continue to meet the needs of our VISD families.
Annually, at Open Enrollment, each employee is expected to review the plans they have elected, any new plans, and any changes to existing plans.
Even if you declined benefits, you will participate by declining again.
Annual Open Enrollment is from mid-July to mid-August each year. Changes made during the event are effective September 1st.
New employees have 30 days from their first day of employment to make online Employee Benefit Elections.
If a new employee declines benefits or fails to enroll in their initial 30 day window, the next opportunity will be during the next Annual Enrollment.
There are exceptions for qualifying life events. (example, change in marital status, dependent status, etc.)
Any employee needing 5 or more days away from work due to their own serious health condition, the birth or placement of a child, or to care for a qualified family member with a serious health condition should contact the Employee Benefits Office.
Types of Job-Protected leave include Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and Temporary Disability. Eligibility requirements vary. Most medical leave requires a Health Care Providers Certification establishing the need for leave.
Before returning from medical leave, employees must provide a written return to work release.
Report all work-related injuries to your Principal, Director or Supervisor.
