The custodial standards have been established to ensure consistent quality performance throughout the District. Our goals will be reached by implementing standards and upgrading job performance.

The Goals of the Custodial Department are:

• Cleaning

  • Each custodian cleans approximately 19,000 square feet of classrooms, restrooms and office areas within an eight hour period. Custodians respond to calls throughout the day as well as set up and tear down for special events that occur on campus.

• Training

  • Annual training is provided to all custodians to reinforce procedures and proper equipment training.

People become custodians for many reasons and bring many individual skills. Having the right attitude is the best way to succeed at any job. Having a positive attitude will give you the foundation to work for VISD.

The Custodial Department includes:

• 22 Lead Custodians

• 2 Night Lead Custodians

• 96 Custodians

• 1 Utility Person
