Platinum Sponsor Awards

At the June 19, 2025 Regular Monthly Board Meeting, the Victoria ISD Board of Trustees proudly recognized this year’s Platinum Supporters - an elite group of local businesses and organizations whose unwavering commitment to public education continues to uplift VISD students, staff, and schools.

A Platinum Supporter of Victoria ISD is the highest level of recognition for community partners. These businesses and individuals go above and beyond in their support by dedicating their time, resources, and leadership to the success of our schools. Whether it’s hosting fundraisers, providing workforce opportunities, celebrating staff, or investing in student programs, our Platinum Supporters are true champions of public education. Their continued partnership is essential in helping Victoria ISD achieve its mission of Achieving Excellence for All.

The following partners were honored as 2025 Platinum Supporters:

Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home

Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home has shown unwavering generosity and compassion through its ongoing support of VISD students in need. Partnering with the VISD Education Foundation, Angel Lucy’s donates brand-new shoes at the beginning of each school year and provides holiday gifts to students during the Christmas season. Over the past eight years, they have distributed approximately 16,000 pairs of shoes and thousands of Christmas gifts, helping ensure that students feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Their commitment to giving back makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many VISD families each year.

Atzenhoffer Chevrolet

Atzenhoffer Chevrolet has been a dedicated community partner, generously supporting VISD campuses, athletics, and fine arts through both fundraising efforts and workforce engagement. Over the last four years, Atzenhoffer has helped 30 VISD campus organizations and clubs fundraise over $462,000.

The dealership has hosted pork chop fundraisers that have directly benefited athletics and fine arts organizations across the district, helping to enhance student experiences and opportunities. They have provided and served over 8,500 porkchop dinners to VISD teachers and staff. In addition to their fundraising support, Atzenhoffer has participated in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Committee and partnered with the district to implement the Champion of the Month program which to date, has provided 24 outstanding staff members with the privilege of driving a new Atzenhoffer vehicle for a month. Their commitment reflects a broad investment in both student achievement and educator support across VISD.

Frost Bank

Frost Bank has been a long-standing and generous supporter of Victoria ISD, consistently investing in initiatives that benefit students, staff, and the broader school community.

One of their most transformative contributions was the donation of the turf field at Memorial Stadium, which led to the renaming of the facility to Frost Field at Memorial Stadium. This significant investment not only enhanced the district’s athletic facilities but also created a sense of pride and community spirit. In addition to this landmark gift, Frost Bank has made numerous other financial contributions and volunteer hours that continue to support a wide range of district programs and priorities.

Grace Transition Education Services

Grace Transition Education Services has been an extraordinary partner in supporting VISD’s special education programs through consistent financial, programmatic, and engagement of personnel.

For the past three years, they have donated annually, directly supporting initiatives that enhance the educational experience for students with special needs. In addition to their monetary contributions, Grace Transition provides staff, transportation, and curriculum to support College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) and workforce readiness programs for students at Victoria East and Victoria West High Schools, VISD Success Academy, and 18+ transition programs. Their support extends to staff as well, with annual donations of items and sponsorship of events such as back-to-school breakfasts, coffee truck visits, and custom t-shirts for more than 100 staff members across the district.

Gulf Bend Center

Gulf Bend Center has been a vital partner in supporting the mental health and wellness of VISD students and staff through the launch and continued implementation of the Bend the Trend program. Now in place at two high-needs campuses, this initiative provides two full-time caseworkers dedicated to addressing the emotional and behavioral health needs of students.

Gulf Bend has gone beyond traditional support by actively seeking out, developing, and securing grant funding to sustain and expand this critical work. In addition to staffing, they regularly identify and assign additional personnel to support implementation and maintain close collaboration with both district and campus leadership to ensure the program’s success. For the past three years, Gulf Bend has delivered extensive, hands-on support and has committed to continuing this partnership well into the future, helping to foster safe, nurturing learning environments where students can thrive.

Mid-Coast Family Services

Mid-Coast Family Services has played a vital role in supporting both students and staff across VISD by providing essential resources and programmatic support. Their efforts have helped address the diverse needs of our students, particularly in the areas of safety, wellness, and personal development.

As part of their drug prevention work, Mid-Coast Family Services delivered Red Ribbon performances across 13 campuses and organized Red Ribbon rallies at five secondary schools. They also actively participated in field days, career days, Parent University sessions, VISD Connections events, DAEP Summer School, and various youth camps, extending their message of drug prevention and support throughout the district.

In addition to prevention education, they have facilitated youth support groups, parent support groups, and family counseling sessions aimed at preventing child abuse and strengthening family dynamics. Their continued partnership and steadfast commitment remains an invaluable asset in fostering a safe and supportive environment for all VISD students and families.

University of Houston–Victoria

The University of Houston–Victoria (UHV) has been a consistent and valued partner in supporting VISD students through financial contributions, career pathway engagement, and academic collaboration. UHV co-sponsors the annual 5th Grade Black History Poster Contest and has provided over 63 scholarships and over $20,000 in scholarships to fifth grade student winners since 2005, reinforcing the importance of cultural awareness and academic achievement. UHV plays an active role in career readiness by serving on the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Committee to provide input/feedback on programs of study, IBCs, and alignment to post-secondary education.

Professors from UHV also volunteer as guest speakers for VISD’s P-TECH Healthcare Science classes and other areas, helping students make real-world connections between their coursework and future careers.

In the area of Special Education, UHV has been a vital partner over the last nine years by providing School Psychology internship opportunities within VISD, further strengthening the local pipeline of career-ready school psychologists.

Together, UHV and VISD are building strong bridges between K–12 and higher education, ensuring students and future professionals are equipped with the tools and support they need to thrive.

Victoria College

Victoria College continues to be a vital academic partner to Victoria ISD, providing extensive support that enriches student learning, college readiness, and college course attainment. All VISD dual credit students have access to free tutoring services and personalized success coaching, equipping them with the tools to manage rigorous coursework and stay on track with academic goals.

Beyond the classroom, Victoria College opens its community Band, Choir, and Orchestra programs to high school students at no cost, allowing them to expand their talents and engage in the college community. The college also plays a key role in ongoing district initiatives, housing the former Liberty Academy at Victoria College (LA@VC), which began in 2021.

Victoria College continues to deepen this partnership by hosting the VISD Success Academy Credit Recovery program on its campus, allowing these students to finish high school and enroll in college courses concurrently with a true college experience. VC’s deeply rooted support exemplifies commitment to student success at every level.

VISD Education Foundation

The VISD Education Foundation has remained committed to supporting teachers, students, and innovative learning across the district. Through targeted fundraising efforts, students have benefited from college scholarships, helping ease the burden of those costs. New teachers receive gift certificates to create classroom learning environments that motivate and academically support students. The VISD Education Foundation also awards annual Grants for Great ideas through an application selection process, staying true to VISD’s vision of achieving academic excellence for all!

For more than 16 years, the VISD Education Foundation has existed to champion excellence in education—bridging the gap where local and state funding fall short and ensuring that students and staff have access to opportunities that inspire and empower.

“Community partnerships are the backbone of public education and play a vital role in advancing our mission of providing the highest quality education for all students,” said Superintendent Sheila Collazo. “Our Platinum Supporters don’t just give—they invest, participate, and lead, making it possible for us to grow programs and provide resources that directly impact our students and their success, while strengthening the community at large. This support signals that we are all in this together.”

VISD extends heartfelt thanks to all its Platinum Supporters for their ongoing dedication to our schools and community. Together, we are building a future grounded in excellence, equity, and opportunity for all.
