Mackenzie Brett, a Victoria West High School student, has earned statewide recognition after being selected to have her artwork Workings of My Mind featured in the Texas Art Education Association Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition.

The exhibition highlights outstanding Pre-K through 12th-grade student artwork from across Texas and will be on display at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin throughout March.

The Youth Art Month exhibition will be open to the public March 1–29, 2026, at the Bullock Texas State History Museum, 1800 Congress Avenue in Austin. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors who check in at the ticket counter may receive complimentary admission to view the Youth Art Month exhibit located in the third-floor Rotunda. Parking is available in the museum garage for $15 per vehicle.

The Youth Art Month program, organized by the Texas Art Education Association in partnership with the Bullock Texas State History Museum, celebrates student creativity and emphasizes the importance of visual arts education across Texas schools.
