TSPRA’s annual STAR Awards recognize outstanding education communications and projects produced by school districts and education organizations across the state. Entries are evaluated by independent, impartial judges using established criteria, with honors ranging from Bronze, Silver and Gold Star Awards to Best of Category, Crystal Commendations and the Platinum Award for comprehensive year-long campaigns.

“These awards reflect the intentional work our team does every day to communicate clearly, transparently and meaningfully with our families, staff and community,” said Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations. “Our goal is always to make information accessible and engaging while supporting student success and strengthening trust in public education.”

These awards add to a growing list of honors earned by the VISD Communications Department. Since 2022, the department has received multiple TSPRA recognitions, including two Crystal Merit Awards, twenty Gold Star Awards and fourteen Silver Star Awards. The department has also earned a Gold MarCom Award for communications excellence.

The honored projects represent multiple communication platforms used by the district, including print publications, video storytelling and visual messaging, all designed to keep families informed and connected to Victoria ISD.
