Awards Night

Victoria East and Victoria West High Schools recently hosted their annual Awards Night ceremonies, recognizing students for outstanding academic achievement, including participation in Dual Credit and Advanced Placement (AP) coursework.

The campus-led events celebrated students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence through rigorous coursework designed to prepare them for success beyond high school.

Combined, Victoria East and West High Schools recognized 102 students for successfully completing Dual Credit coursework and earning college credit while still enrolled in high school. Together, these students completed a combined 2,331 college credit hours, demonstrating a strong commitment to their academic and post-secondary goals. In addition, 11 Victoria West High School students earned their associate degree from Victoria College while completing their high school education.

Students enrolled in AP courses were also recognized for engaging in rigorous college-level academic work while in high school. Across both high schools, VISD had a total of 1,059 students participating in 2,145 AP courses. Students from both campuses will have the opportunity to earn qualifying scores on multiple AP exams, allowing them opportunities to earn college credit and demonstrate college readiness.

In addition to Dual Credit and AP recognitions, both campuses honored students for a variety of academic accomplishments, including valedictorian and salutatorian honors, departmental awards, A Honor Roll recognition, P-TECH achievements, Dual Credit achievements, AP/College Board recognitions, and honors graduates recognized as cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude.

Victoria ISD continues to support campuses in providing advanced academic opportunities that prepare students for college, career, and beyond. Through programs like Dual Credit and Advanced Placement, students can take meaningful steps toward their future goals while still in high school.

Victoria East and West High School also recognized students in several additional categories, including Girls and Boys State delegates, military enlistments, Principal’s Awards, perfect attendance, and South Texas Blood Bank donors.

Victoria ISD congratulates all students recognized during these Awards Night ceremonies. We are proud of their achievements and the commitment they have shown to academic excellence and their future success.
