The Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that they have selected three consultant firms to interview for the superintendent search.
The district received a total of five proposals from various search firms and will review three of these firms through presentations during the upcoming June 10 Regular Monthly School Board meeting. The board will invite Powell Law Group, JG Consulting, and JCA Law PLLC to present. The board discussed further the option of conducting the superintendent search on their own.
The search for a new superintendent began following the announcement by Dr. Quintin Shepherd, who served as VISD Superintendent for six years, that he will be departing to assume the same role in Pflugerville ISD. His announcement came in April, marking the end of his impactful tenure with our district.
In late April, the Board named Randy Meyer as Interim Superintendent. Mr. Meyer, who currently serves as Deputy Superintendent for VISD, will temporarily fill this role and resume his position as Deputy Superintendent once a permanent superintendent is selected.
The Board is committed to conducting a thorough and transparent search to find the best candidate to lead VISD.
