Crain Dual Language Signing Ceremony

Crain Elementary recently hosted a vibrant signing ceremony to celebrate its kindergarten dual language students and the first steps of their bilingual pathway. This event underscored the importance of bilingual education and highlighted the commitment of our youngest learners to academic excellence and their linguistic potential.

The dual language program at Crain Elementary aims to cultivate bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism by pairing students in Bilingual partnerships to learn from each other's language strengths. Students work together throughout the day to foster collaboration, accountability, and empathy. Did you know that working in pairs promotes understanding of content lessons and language development?

The signing ceremony recognizes the hard work and dedication these students will be putting forth and the commitment of our teachers, and staff. Celebrating achievements like these boosts students' confidence and motivation, instilling pride and encouraging them to strive for excellence. These events also foster a positive school culture, bringing together students, parents, teachers, and community members.

We extend our gratitude to Mr. Gattis, a valued community partner, for sponsoring the dual language t-shirts for our students. Their generous support has made a significant difference, symbolizing the hard work and dedication of our bilingual learners.

As we look forward to the future, we encourage more parents to consider the dual language program for their children. The benefits of bilingual education extend beyond language proficiency, opening doors to new opportunities and enhancing cognitive abilities.
