VISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department is excited to announce the "Learn to Earn" tours for 8th grade students throughout January. These tours are designed to give students a comprehensive overview of the CTE programs available at the high school level before they make their course selections.
The tours will be hosted at the Career and Technology Institute Campus for middle school campuses throughout January.
Each tour will feature 11 rotations corresponding to the 11 Career Clusters offered by VISD for the 2025-26 school year. During each rotation teachers and students will present detailed information about the various Programs of Study available at high school.
"We are excited to continue the 8th grade tours to showcase the exciting career pathways available in high school," said Dena Justice, CTE Director. "The tours provide an opportunity to learn about the courses, projects, and industry-based certification offerings in each career cluster.”
The "Learn to Earn Tours” are a critical part of preparing students to select courses for their high school education and beyond, ensuring they are well informed about their options in fields ranging from healthcare to engineering.
Middle school counselors will share more information with parents and students prior to the tours in January.
