This February, Victoria Independent School District (VISD) proudly celebrates Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month by showcasing the robust and ever-expanding opportunities available to our students. CTE programs provide pathways for students to explore their passions, gain industry-relevant skills, and prepare for future careers while still in school.
For the 2025-26 academic year, VISD is thrilled to announce an increase in CTE offerings, with 12 Career Clusters and 23 Programs of Study. This expansion builds on previous years' success, growing from 11 Career Clusters and 18 Programs of Study in 2023-24. Notably, the Energy Career Cluster is being added to the lineup, providing students with programs in Renewable Energy and Refining & Chemical Processes. This addition demonstrates VISD’s commitment to evolving alongside industry trends and offering cutting-edge career pathways.
To ensure students have the best preparation for life beyond high school, the CTE Department is partnering with Victoria College to align CTE Programs of Study with dual credit opportunities. These courses allow students to gain college credit while pursuing their high school diploma, ensuring a head start on post-secondary education and career readiness.
