The August 4th grand opening of the new VISD Connections center was a tremendous success thanks to our VISD families, community organizations, VISD School Board, and VISD staff.
Approximately 275 families attended the event where they received backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and books. Lots of smiles, excitement, and enthusiasm quickly spread as the crowd learned of the opportunities VISD Connections will offer our district families.
“Our event was an inspiring beginning for VISD Connections and a tribute to the services and resources our district and community are able to provide for our families,” shared Dr. Candace Pohl, VISD Connections Coordinator. “It was an awesome sight to see our families, community, and staff connecting with each other.”
Families were able to sign up for fall semester education sessions, take advantage of the lending library, and discover the variety of services that are also available throughout the Victoria community. Within 2 days of opening, VISD Connections has served an additional 105 students and families for their back-to-school needs and the number has continued to increase.
Victoria ISD and VISD Connections would like to extend a special thanks to all of our community partners who joined us for the event:
